Hamilton Medical Center’s (HMC) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is inviting former patients and families to a reunion.
Open to patients and families from when the unit opened in February of 2010, the event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the HMC Mensa. This will be a drop-in event.
“We have become very close with lots of families over the years,” said Nikki Pasley, NICU manager. “We are so excited to have a reunion. It’s like seeing our extended family, some of them for the first time in years!”
HMC’s NICU is a Level III facility, taking babies born at any point in a pregnancy. HMC’s NICU not only serves Whitfield and Murray counties but also cares for critically ill infants from around the region. The unit has private rooms available, which allows parents and families to stay with their babies as much as possible during this critical time.
“It’s very important for us to provide family-centered care,” said Pasley.
Santa Claus will be available for photos during the event. Parents are encouraged to send photos (one from now and one from when a patient in the NICU) to [email protected] for a slide show.
