Hamilton Physician Group (HPG) – Calhoun Campus recently relocated to 100 Willowbrook Way.
Calhoun Campus includes HPG – Primary Care Calhoun and HPG – Neurosurgery and Spine.
Primary care providers Michelle Little, DO, and Jennifer Smith, NP, provide non-emergency family medical care to adults and children age 2 and older. Dr. Little is fluent in Spanish.
Little said her goal is to treat patients like she would want her family treated.
“I like to meet people where they are,” Little said. “Some respond to humor, others need a hug and a gentle nudge. I think my love of building relationships helps me take good care of my patients. They know I genuinely care about them, even if I’m giving some tough love.”
Little did her family medicine residency at Floyd Medical Center in Rome. She also served as chief resident there. She completed her medical schooling at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, S.C. She is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, American Association of Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association and the Georgia Academy of Family physicians. She is fluent in Spanish.
Smith is a third-generation nurse and a second-generation Hamilton nurse. “I always knew I was going to be in healthcare and had planned for it from early childhood,” Smith said.
A Calhoun resident, Smith has been a nurse practitioner for 14 years, earning her degree from Kennesaw State. She was a registered nurse for 16 years before becoming a nurse practitioner.
Nurse practitioners are advanced registered nurses who diagnose and treat illnesses and persistent conditions. They are trained to provide health promotion and maintenance.
Justin Hare, DO, is a pain management specialist for HPG – Neurosurgery and Spine. The treatments he provides include therapies (both physical and psychological), manual medicine, medications and interventions based on pain complaint.
“I evaluate each patient individually to assess how I can best help him or her restore function and improve his or her quality of life,” said Hare. “I use a comprehensive approach, based on the patient needs and start with the most conservative treatments and progress based on the patient’s response.”
Hare receive his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tenn. He completed a residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., and an interventional pain fellowship, also at the University of Kentucky.
