Hamilton Health – Cleveland recently opened a cardiology practice at 2414 Chambliss Ave., Cleveland.
“We take pride in providing the highest level of patient care,” said Lisa Lovelace, executive vice president for Operations and Provider Affiliates (overseeing Hamilton Physician Services). “We offer consultation, evaluation and treatment in all aspects of cardiovascular disease.”
Two cardiologists – Selwin Abraham, MD, FACC, and Steven Austin, MD, FACC, FSCAI – are seeing patients at the location.
Selwin Abraham, MD, FACC
Steven Austin, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Abraham is a board-certified interventional cardiologist. He attended medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, Calif., his residency training in Internal Medicine and his Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
“Cardiology is all about teamwork,” said Abraham. “There is no way I could do it on my own. That’s one of the wonderful things about Hamilton. They’re building an amazing team, not just at one level but at every single level of the system.”
Austin is also a board-certified interventional cardiologist. He attended medical school and completed his residency training at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tenn., and completed his fellowship in Cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C
“I love interventional cardiology,” said Austin. “It’s a sub-specialty that allows me to stent a vessel that’s 100 percent closed and stop a heart attack in its tracks. It’s hard to beat that. It’s a very rewarding field.”
