Jessica Brown, Imaging information supervisor, and Laura Conger, MD, Hospitalist Services, recently received the Hamilton Hero Award for displaying an extraordinary commitment to the values of Hamilton Health Care System during life-saving events.
Brown was present during an event in Dalton when someone collapsed from cardiac arrest. She began CPR and followed the established guidelines from the AHA for initiating life-saving measures.
Conger was at a volleyball tournament when an athlete suddenly became ill. Conger stayed with the patient until EMS arrived. She calmed the mother and held the player to prevent further injury. When EMS took the patient to Hamilton, Conger called to check on the patient and family members. She also called the Emergency Department to give a report to the Emergency Department physician.
“The actions of these two associates truly show the ‘Heart of Hamilton,’” said Jason Hopkins, Human Resources director. “We’re very proud of their commitment to Hamilton and their service to our community.”
