Hamilton Hospice is inviting anyone who has lost a loved one to attend its fall memorial service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12. The event will be held in the Brown Conference Center auditorium, located in the Burkett Building on the Hamilton Medical Center campus.

The service is held in honor of the loved ones cared for by Hamilton Hospice throughout the past several months, but is open to all those grieving a loss.

“The Memorial Service is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of our patients and provide a place where family members and friends can share memories and find comfort,” said Susie Compton, director of Hamilton Home Health and Hospice.

The service is designed to comfort family members and friends in attendance with words of encouragement, a remembrance candle lighting, special music and a bell ringing tribute.  At the conclusion of the service, each family is invited to take a butterfly from the Hamilton Hospice Butterfly Tribute Tree as a symbol of remembrance, love and hope.

 

The memorial service is sponsored by the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hamilton Health Care System, and held each spring and fall.
