Hamilton Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), along with other local first responder groups, is helping to save lives in a new way this summer by hosting local blood drives.
HEMS is participating in the Hometown Heroes Summer Competition, a battle to get the most donors. The top group will receive a $500 grant to go toward a first responder’s education or new equipment.
The blood drives will be held on July 5 in Dalton, July 10 in Chatsworth, and July 24 in Ringgold. HEMS representatives will be at each event to provide free blood pressure checks.
