Brandee Albert, doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO), a new physician at Hamilton Physician Group – Gastroenterology in Dalton, GA, says she chose the healthcare profession because she had always been interested in healthy lifestyles.
“Working in healthcare allows me to help my patients work toward or maintain a healthy lifestyle and good quality of life through cancer screenings and treatment of other conditions,” she says.
She says gastroenterology conditions can sometimes be difficult or embarrassing for patients to talk about. “I hope to make new patients feel comfortable, and I think it’s important to have a good sense of humor to make patients feel at ease,” she says. “I also like to discuss the steps of procedures in detail and answer questions to ease any anxiety patients may have.”
Dr. Albert completed a gastroenterology fellowship and internal medicine residency at Carolinas HealthCare System – Blue Ridge in Morganton, N.C. She also served as chief resident there during her residency. She completed her medical schooling at the University of Pikeville – Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Ky.
She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Physicians, American Academy of Osteopathy, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
Dr. Albert enjoys hiking, fly fishing, traveling and cooking.
