Arif Ali, MD, radiation oncologist, has been named as the medical director for Peeples Cancer Institute (PCI), part of Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, GA.
“With his extensive expertise, compassionate nature and dedication to advancing oncologic care, Dr. Ali has been an invaluable addition to our team since 2017,” said Jayme Carrico, PCI executive director. “Dr. Ali brings with him an exceptional background in oncology.”
Graduating from the University of Chicago and Emory University, he has been widely recognized for his contributions to cancer research and patient care. Ali has been awarded several accolades for his research including the University of Chicago Leon O. Jacobson Prize, Emory Radiation Oncology Resident Research Day Prize (1st place) and Radiological Society of North America Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award.
Ali’s extensive knowledge and years of experience make him a true leader in the field. Throughout his career, he has been committed to providing comprehensive and personalized cancer treatment for his patients. His approach centers not only on clinical excellence but also on fostering a sense of trust, open communication and empathy with each individual under his care.
As medical director, Ali will play a pivotal role in advancing the quality and accessibility of cancer treatments offered at PCI. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Ali holds a faculty appointment and actively participates in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical College of Georgia’s Northwest Campus, teaching medical students and resident physicians while contributing to advancements in the field of oncology.
“It has been an honor serving the patients of Northwest Georgia these past seven years,” said Ali. “I’m excited to continue my service at Peeples Cancer Institute as medical director by helping to preserve PCI’s standing as a regional leader of state-of-the-art oncologic care with the highest of quality standards while advancing the expansion of treatment offerings to include those typically only found in large cities.”
Ali currently serves in the Georgia Air National Guard, 116th Medical and Dental Group as the Chief of Aerospace Medicine (SGP) with the rank of Colonel.
