Vitruvian Health (formerly Hamilton Health Care System) recently received the Surescripts White Coat Award. With three award categories, the Surescripts White Coat Award recognizes overall excellence in prescription accuracy as well as adoption of technology that improves patient safety and healthcare delivery.
Vitruvian Health won in the “Highest Performance” category. This award is based on prescribing accuracy. Vitruvian is at the top of all healthcare systems that use Epic Health Systems across the country in electronically prescribing medication orders accurately.
“We are thrilled to recognize the 2024 White Coat Award recipients for continually raising the bar for accuracy, adopting best practices and technology enhancements that ensure clinicians are equipped to provide quality, safe and effective care that their patients deserve,” said Frank Harvey, chief executive officer for Surescripts. “For more than two decades, the Surescripts Network Alliance has continued to prioritize accuracy and patient safety for the billions of e-prescriptions processed each year. This commitment means prescribers and pharmacists are spending less time clarifying the prescriber’s intent and more time focused on what matters most – the patients in their care.”
The 2024 Surescripts White Coat Award recognizes health systems, pharmacies, pharmacy technology vendors and electronic health records (EHR) vendors that help deliver clear and accurate electronic prescriptions, eliminate confusion and time-consuming phone calls and faxes, and give patients better access to the medications they need.
The purpose of Surescripts is to serve the nation through simpler, trusted health intelligence sharing, in order to increase patient safety, lower costs and ensure quality care. The platform makes it simpler to choose medications patients can afford and adhere to, and get specialty medications to patients more efficiently.
