David Liff, MD, a non-invasive cardiologist, has joined Hamilton Physician Group – Cardiology in Dalton, GA.
A 2001 graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Liff studied at Ohio State University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Emory School of Medicine.
“I always wanted to be a doctor,” Liff said. “My dad was a dentist, and it was always important to us that you do something that is meaningful for the community and helps the common good. Everybody in my family is a physician, be it veterinarians or doctors.”
Liff grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and is an avid Michigan football fan but has spent most of his adult life in Atlanta. He was drawn to Vitruvian Health’s culture around offering top care for patients and improving the larger community.
Cardiology drew Liff’s interest early in his studies. He understood it intuitively and felt it was a good match for his talents and interests. He especially enjoys helping patients through difficult times of their lives and providing the support and education necessary to help them achieve a higher quality of life.
Liff takes a hands-on approach to patient care, personally making check-in calls and taking the time to help patients understand their health. He sees his role as part educator with a focus on preventive cardiology — helping patients avoid or treat factors that contribute to heart disease, such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity.
“I’d like patients to know that I will treat them as if they were my family,” Liff added. “My goal is not to tell people what to do, but to help them live better lives for themselves, whatever that looks like to them.”
Liff treats a range of heart-related issues, including coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart failure, arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation and more. He specializes in obesity medicine.
In his spare time, Liff enjoys running, mountain biking, exploring the outdoors and spending time with his 8-year-old daughter.
